FIRST FROST ICE SKATING AT CENTENNIAL ICE RINK OPENING CELEBRATION

The outdoor rink, a division of Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC), is located at 95 Winburn Way, across from the Lithia Park playground, around the corner from the Plaza, and at the corner of Nutley Street and Winburn Way. The rink will be open through February 19, 2018. Our skate rentals accommodate toddler size 9-up to men’s size 15.
 
Please come prepared to skate, as changing rooms are not available. Hot chocolate, coffee and a variety of snacks will be available for purchase. The rink offers skate trainers for select sessions… available at no charge. 
 
We hope you can experience one of the most magical places in Ashland… that little outdoor rink in beautiful Lithia Park, where the air is fresh, the white lights are twinkling and the music blends with the sounds of nature and blades on the ice… “Let’s skate!”

This is our annual fundraiser to benefit the Medford Railroad Park, now in our 36th year of operation to the public. Held inside the Jackson County Expo there will be a dozen or more operating model railroads of all sizes. In addition there will be historic railroad displays, exhibits from Rogue Valley model railroad manufacturers, a swap meet, Operation Lifesaver, door prizes and raffles. 

Admission is $5.00 for Adults. Children ages 6-12 is $1.00. Children 5 and under free w/paid adult.

There will be wreath making kits available at $15 per kit for non-members or $10 for SOHS members. Kits include the grapevine base, choice of greens and berries, wire and clippers and there will be volunteers to give wreath making advice. Some ribbon will be available. Santa and his Elf will be there, and there will be activities for the children and warm drinks and snacks for purchase.

EAGLE POINT COMMUNITY TREE LIGHTING

The Eagle Point Community Association will hold it’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Santa’s Arrival on Friday, December 1st at 7:00 pm in Bob Moore Park on Main Street. After the tree lighting, Santa will arrive by fire truck to lead everyone to the City Hall where children will receive candy, stuffed animals and books. NEEDED… Donations of soft, clean, “gently loved” stuffed animals and books are again being solicited for Santa’s visit.

The Winter Festival brings hundreds of people downtown  Myrtle Creek to enjoy free chili, hot cider and coffee.  Visitors can also enjoy the City Christmas tree and live Nativity scene and can shop at businesses that stay open late during the community event.  When the parade vehicles arrive, they park along Main Street and some side streets where they can viewed up close and visitors can take photographs and chat with the drivers.  The evening ends with the award of cash prizes in six categories and for "Best of Show".Link to Myrtle Creek Chamber of Commerce

The Voorhies Mansion will be beautifully decorated and parents are encouraged to take pictures and enjoy the festivities with their children. Start dusting off your ugly sweaters! West Orthodontics is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting the Medford Ugly Sweater 5K this December! We are so excited to keep Medford’s Ugly Sweater Run alive and continue to support the JCFPA.

The JCFPA works to improve the lives of so many foster children and gives meaningful support to foster, adoptive and relative families. A portion of the proceeds will go to helping the JCFPA meet the needs of the foster children in our community. What better way to support Medford and get in a nice holiday jog with your Ugly Sweaters on!

This is a run all about FUN! This is not a timed race. There will be a time clock at the finish line for runners who like to keep that competitive edge!

ROGUE WINTERFEST IN GRANTS PASS

Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus; engage in family activities and games in Santa’s Workshop; enjoy live entertainment; and vote on the People’s Choice Award.

Activities include Fishing at the North Pole, Coloring and Letters to Santa, holiday building project with The Home Depot, face painting by Leslie Heidner Body Art, and taking that perfect photo in the spectacular Southern Oregon Adventure setting.

Every 45 minutes, the entertainment on the big stage will change, ranging from bands to choirs to individual singers to classical performers during this live musical mash-up.

Santa will be available for pictures, so bring your camera.

Santa’s schedule will be from 10:00 to 11:30 am, 12:00 to 1:30 pm, and 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. When you go fishing at the North Pole, you’ll catch a bookmark that you can use to pick out a children’s book from Santa’s library. Bring your book to Santa, and he will sign it for you!

Food & Beverages

DASSH Bakery will be on site to sell beverages and delicious pastries. A portion of the profits will go to help the organizations, so come hungry!

Build holiday memories in our hands-on workshop where you and your child can put together a wooden gingerbread house that will last year after year. No frosting required! Once the gingerbread house is built, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron, and pin.
