ScienceWorks Noon Year's Eve

ScienceWorks Noon Year's Eve

  • SciencWorks Hands-On Museum (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Celebrate the start of a bright new year — at noon! Our annual NOON Year’s Eve party brings families together for hands-on fun, big laughs, joyful countdowns, and a whole lot of science.

Two Countdowns, Two Ways to Celebrate

At 12 PM sharp, we’ll ring in the new year with two balloon drops.

  • Main Gallery Balloon Drop: A lively, music-filled countdown with plenty of energy and excitement.

  • Da Vinci’s Garage Balloon Drop: A sensory-friendly countdown where we whisper the numbers and celebrate with jazz hands instead of noise.

New This Year: Skip the Line with Pre-Sale Admission

If you’ve joined us before, you know our entry line can get long — especially the closer it gets to 12 noon. To make sure no one misses the magic moment, we’re introducing pre-sale admission tickets.

  • Purchase tickets at regular admission prices.

  • Members can reserve free tickets by logging in.

  • Present your QR code at the door for the quickest entry.

A New Twist on the Egg Drop Challenge

We’re changing things up in response to growing food insecurity in our region. Instead of using real eggs, this year’s Egg Drop Challenge will feature reusable plastic eggs filled with paint.

  • They’re fun, colorful, and create less waste.

  • You can take your egg-stronaut vehicle home — no raw egg cleanup required!

  • And while you’re here, we invite you to bring nonperishable food items to drop in the Ashland Food Bank donation barrel near the front desk. Every contribution supports neighbors facing hunger.

Experience it with family, friends, on a date, or as a group outing. You can enjoy hot cocoa, coffee, and delicious snacks as you walk through the display.

The entry fee is $5 per car. We love our four-legged friends, but for safety reasons, we kindly ask that you leave your pets at home.

Established in 1857, this 37-acre Century Farm is owned and operated by the Southern Oregon Historical Society. Originally settled as a land grant, it remained in the Hanley family until 1982 when Mary Hanley, a founder of the Society, donated it to SOHS. It is both a working farm and a museum, the largest artifact in SOHS’s 1,000,000+ collection!
