SALMON STROLL IN TALENT

  • Lynn Newbry Park Talent, Oregon (map)

A leisurely stroll along Bear Creek to see the salmon come home!

Chinook salmon are born in Bear Creek and then make their way to the Pacific Ocean where they spend years feeding. Eventually they will return to their birth place in Bear Creek after battling their way up the Rogue River. Every fall, we are lucky enough to see them at the end of their journey home.

These strolls are easy, at your own pace walks along the Creek to find the best spot to see salmon. We will meet under the pavilion near the parking lot to talk about these amazing fish and their life cycle as well as what Rogue Riverkeeper is doing to help protect them. Then we will walk along the Greenway bike path to find some fish.

Salmon strolls are free and great for people of all ages. We hope you can join us!
